Paradise Island is the tutorial level for de Blob 2. Originally a famous holiday spot, it's now been dramatically changed thanks to Comrade Black who had landed on a tiny island south-west of the islands, due to the events in de Blob. The level itself is split into two main islands, with the western half being comprised off three smaller but connected islands; and the eastern part comprises of one large island with a few small islands with houses. The larger island is where Comrade Black built his cannon to escape the island.

The opening cutscene concerns Prof informing Pinky and Blob, who are riding the Blimp, about Comrade Black's return.

Landmarks[]

Being the tutorial level, Paradise Island only has two landmarks within.

Areas of Paradise Island[]

There are four areas that Blob can visit (excluding the cannon) in this level. Note that fast travel is not unlocked until Downtown (Prisma City).

Colour Lagoon:[]

The first area. Here, the gameplay basics are explained such as moving the camera and jumping. This is full in colour so no painting is required. Once the first transformation engine has been slammed, a previously blocked part (i.e. a cliff) is lowered, allowing Blob to progress further. It is then explained that the statue of Black was the reason the orange stream was blocked. Crossing to the next area is three bleached buildings with a purple colour pool. The water has been replaced with ink to the north and east. The aforementioned statue is then destroyed and replaced with a statue of Blob whilst the ink to the north is cleared. Climbing over a natural arch leads to another group of bleached buildings, along with red and blue colour pools. The style pickup is introduced at this point as a level collectible. Slamming another engine removes the ink separating the smaller islands from the larger one. Just off the coast (south-east from the engine), there is a partially sunken ship with contains a style and inspiration pickup [Note: If Blob goes into the ship just after the transformation, the inspiration point won't be there as it hasn't been introduced yet].

Tiki Village:[]

The eastern part of the larger island, this is where the graydians are introduced, having been forced to build Black's cannon at the top of the cliff. In the immediate surroundings, there are a small group of buildings and colour pools (green, red and purple [which is slightly off from the rest]). Climbing the ledges near the village leads to a small island with some collectibles. Heading east from the village rests the first inspiration point in the game (From this point all inspiration points are available to collect). Crossing ink with a rope bridge has tall buildings to the left and a hotel to the right. Here, ink can be seen pouring down from the cliffs above. The trees here have been bleached. Near the hotel, there is an small square stack with another inspiration point. From here, Blob can enter into the tunnel to get to the other side.

The Cave:[]

A linear path with two colour pools (blue and orange). Blob's charge ability is introduced here; along with switches (basic and coloured ones). A level - wide quest includes smashing some boxes is also explained here.

A Bleached Beach:[]

Once cleared of the cave, Blob sees that the entire area has been devoid of colour, with the exception of two orange waterfalls leading to a colour pool. Ink is again pouring from the above cliffs and the path ahead has been blocked by a gate with buildings next to it. Just to the right is the first INKT Landmark in the game - a lighthouse. Scaling to the top and transforming the lighthouse opens the way to the eastern half of the island.

The Docks:[]

Once again devoid of any colour but colour pools. A series of rope bridges cross over a large green colour pool. It is an industrial area with docks, ships surrounded by ink and machinery are everywhere. There is a hotel up on a hill near the cannon. In the middle, there is a central area filled with small statues of Black, crates and forklifts. This can be destroyed using a supercharge power - up. The way to the cannon is blocked by cliffs, which can be cleared by a transformation engine.

The complex is divided into many levels. The entrance has a blue turnstile and colour pool that unlocks the lift halfway to the next floor and another lift to carry Blob for the remaining half. Following the corridor leads to a blue switch that opens up a large room with a red colour pool in the right and a blue sprayer to the left. At the back is two computers on either side next to a large observation panel for a large structure in the background. In the centre there is a lift that can reach both red and blue panels on the top platform and right wall respectively. Once unlocking the code, Blob faces the first of the hazards in the game purely designed to hurt him: the Shrink Ray. Passing these hazards, and slamming the blue switch unlocks the lift to another large room with a lift, platform and a red colour pool. Notice the barrel of the cannon in the background. Depositing red into the panels yet again unlocks another lift where there is a green switch but the colour pool is behind some shrink rays. Finally, taking the lift to the top leads to a tall room with two orange panels, a colour pool at the top right, and a lift in the middle.
